Arsenal fear Fab and Nasri will leave this weekArsenal fear they will lose £20million Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas this week. The Gunners last night received an improved £34million bid from Barcelona for club captain Fabregas. And Manchester United are also ready to make their move for Nasri with a view to sealing a deal before pre-season training begins next week. Arsenal could find it hard to resist a £20million offer for a player in the final year of his contract at the Emirates. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already made it clear Nasri will not be allowed to run his contract down and leave on a free as midfielder Mathieu Flamini did three years ago. Wenger has been trying to persuade Nasri that the club’s six-year spell without trophies will come to an end next season. But any success is unlikely to feature Fabregas, as Barcelona last night made an improved £34m bid for the Gunners skipper. And United are still understood to be confident of landing a second body blow on their title rivals by spiriting away 24-year-old Nasri.
In other news, Sir Alex is be made a doctor of the University of Stirling today (Wednesday) for his "outstanding contribution" to sport.
